Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

A CE Broker Product Owner manages a backlog of important product features and works with developer and QA teams to add value to our online offerings. This individual needs to become intimately aware of all of the pain points and needs of our users, and interact with all sorts of technical and nontechnical stakeholders in order to make a real difference in the lives of our customers.  Multiple projects are underway at any given time, and the Product Owner is responsible for delivering value in a timely manner across the entire family of CE Broker products.

In a typical work day, the Product Owner spends time with various stakeholders, prioritizing the features that go into each product depending on their urgency and importance, and ensuring that whatever we do is aligned with our mission and product vision. They also meet with members of development teams to present these items and plan increments of work.

  • Experience in setting priorities for both new and established products.
  • Leadership/decision-making experience: manage products and work with the competing interests, needs, and priorities of multiple people/departments.
  • Extremely strong organizational skills: be a diligent note-taker (or have the memory of an elephant)
  • Demonstrated interested in technology, particularly web-based.
  • Dedication to constant learning and can demonstrate a history of personal growth.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a remote team.
  • Experience working in an environment with complex business requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex scenarios in a simple way. This position requires frequent phone, video, and face-to-face interaction, and a successful Product Owner needs to be able to maintain composure even in stressful situations.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
